    Golden Visa In UAE

    Golden Visa In UAE:

    The UAE implemented the Golden Visa system in 2018. It included the granting of a long-term residence visa, for 5 or 10 years, which is automatically renewed for people who fall into any of certain categories including investors, doctors, entrepreneurs, scientists, creators, inventors, researchers in various branches of science, technology and innovation, and outstanding students.

    The Golden Visa system allows its beneficiaries in the UAE – including expatriates and their families who wish to come to work, live and study in the country – to enjoy long-term residency. Recipients include dozens of high school pupils who achieved high grades and were granted golden visas for themselves, their parents and siblings.

    In the first year, 44,000 visas were issued in Dubai alone. Golden visas are designed to enable foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE without the need for a national sponsor and with 100 per cent ownership of their business on the UAE’s mainland.

    These visas are issued for 10 years and as long as the recipient continues to meet the conditions of the visa, they can renew for a further decade when it is due to expire. Normal expatriate workers must renew their visa every two to three years.

    The following categories of people are entitled to apply for a 10-year residence visa in the UAE;

    ✔            People with public investments of at least Dh10 million.

    ✔            People with specialised talents.

    The Golden Residency is granted to outstanding pupils who have obtained an average rate of at least 95% in the high school from any public or private schools; and to university students from inside or outside the country who have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.75, or its equivalent in specific scientific disciplines. Foreigners wishing to establish their company in the United Arab Emirates can also apply for 5 years permanent residency through the Golden Business Visa scheme.

    Applicants need to register their interest on the UAE's Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) website. There is a special area for golden visa services.

    Golden visa was launched with a aim of attracting foreign investment and bringing to the country the best in the world in the most diverse areas of activity, which have a duration of 10 years and is automatically renewed every decade as long as candidates meet the established requirements and conditions.

    The main benefit of this visa will be security, as through the issuance of the Golden Visa, the UAE government has made it clear that it is committed to providing expatriates, investors and essentially everyone looking to make the UAE their home an extra reason to feel secure about their future.

    Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced that the UAE would offer Golden Visas to charity and humanitarian aid workers in recognition of their efforts and sacrifices.

    The announcement made by Sheikh Mohammed to provide long-term residence visas to humanitarian workers was made on World Humanitarian Day, commemorated every year on 19th August to honour the work done by humanitarian workers and remember those who lost their lives working for humanitarian causes. He pointed to the UAE having established Dubai International Humanitarian City (IHC) in 2011 as an example of its efforts to lead humanitarian causes which is the largest humanitarian destination in the world.
